Domain marketplace

A website or platform where sellers list domains for sale and buyers search, make offers or buy at a fixed price. Examples include Afternic, Sedo, Atom and Dan.

Why it matters

Marketplaces give sellers reach. A domain listed on a major one can show up in many registrars' search results. Sellers set a price or a minimum offer, and the platform often takes a commission. Marketplaces suit names that sell on their own. They do less for names that need active outreach to the right buyer. A common mistake is listing a name once and expecting a sale. Price, landing page and listing details matter. Premium names often do better with a broker. Compare commissions and exclusivity rules before listing in more than one place.
