Acronym domain

An acronym domain is a domain made of a short set of letters, such as three or four, that stands for a name or phrase. Examples include IBM.com or ABC.com. Letter count drives much of its value.

Why it matters

Short letter combinations are scarce. Every three-letter .com already exists, so each one trades on the aftermarket. Value depends on how well the letters read, whether real companies use them and how many firms could claim them. A common mistake is thinking every set of letters is worth a lot. Random letters with no business match can sit unsold for years. Match the letters to a likely end user before you price.
