Why it matters
Forwarding is a quick way to point a spare domain at your main site. An owner might forward a defensive or typo domain to the brand's real address. It does not move ownership or content. Forwarding has limits. Some setups lose the original path, and forwarding does not by itself give the destination the old domain's search value in every case. For sellers, forwarding a for-sale domain to a lander is common. A common mistake is leaving a name forwarded to an unrelated or risky site, which can hurt its history and appeal to buyers.
