Valuation and pricing

End-user value

End-user value is what a domain is worth to a business that will use it, not to an investor who will resell it. It is also called retail value and is usually higher than wholesale.

Why it matters

A company judges a name by its effect on revenue, trust, and marketing cost. A name that saves on ads or wins customers can justify a high price. Investors value the same name by what they can resell it for, which is lower. Sellers should aim for end users when the name is strong. Buyers should size their budget by the name's business value. Common mistake: using one fixed figure. The same domain can be worth ten times more to a funded company in the right industry than to the average buyer.
