Search volume

Search volume is the number of times people search for a term in a search engine over a set period, usually a month. Domain buyers use it to judge demand for a keyword name.

Why it matters

Higher volume suggests more people look for the phrase, which can help a keyword domain attract visitors. Tools such as Google Keyword Planner give estimates. Volume is not the same as value. A high-volume term with low commercial intent, or a term dominated by large brands, may not support a high price. Pair it with cost per click (CPC) to see what advertisers pay. Common mistake: relying on search volume alone. Modern search favors strong sites, so a keyword domain does not rank on its name alone.
