Why it matters
A domain with real, earned links can be worth more, since a buyer inherits that standing. A profile full of paid or spam links can harm it. Google's spam policies treat buying or selling links for ranking as link spam. Check the profile with an SEO tool and the history in the Wayback Machine before buying a used domain. Common mistake: paying extra for a domain because of old links. Links from a dead or unrelated site may carry little value, and a manual penalty can follow the name.
