Inbound inquiry

An inbound inquiry is an offer or question that a buyer sends to the owner of a domain, usually through a for-sale page or marketplace listing. The buyer starts the contact.

Why it matters

Inbound leads show real interest, but they often come with low first offers. Sellers should reply fast, ask who the buyer is, and set a price floor before talking. Be careful with fake leads and scam messages that ask for fees or odd payment steps. A broker can screen leads and keep the owner's name private. Common mistake: accepting the first offer. Many inbound buyers expect a counteroffer, and the first number is rarely the best one.
