Why it matters
One-word .com names sit at the top of the aftermarket. A single common word is easy to say, spell and remember, and it can fit many products. Because supply is nearly gone, prices often reach six or seven figures. Buyers pay for the brand's long future, not for current traffic. A common mistake is assuming any short word is valuable. Rare or odd words, or words tied to one narrow meaning, sell for far less. Also expect a trademark check, since a common word may already be a brand in one industry.
